BASB Cohort 14
Today was the official kickoff of the Building A Second Brain Cohort 14.
This is my fifth cohort going through. My first time was spring 2 years ago. In that time, I’ve become very familiar with the curriculum. Although there are changes made each time to improve it, the main points are largely the same. It’s come to the point where I’m not getting as much value out of the time spent in these sessions.
I already built a second brain. It’s a continual work in progress, but it’s working.
So my focus is on adding value to others in the course. Last year I was a mentor twice. Now I’m a moderator. Although this may be a “lesser” job and lower in hierarchy compared to a moderator, the role is a better fit for me in what I enjoy. Even before I became a mentor (and part of the reason I was accepted to be a mentor), I would help answer tech questions that students had on the Circle forum.
I’ve set notifications to go to email when a new post is made in the Support, Roam, Obsidian, and Notion spaces. These are all areas I can help in.
I’m monitoring my email all day, so I’m usually the first to reply when it’s something I can add to.
When I came back to America from Japan, I didn’t know what I wanted to do. BASB provided that answer. Now I’m making a living from digital productivity coaching and helping people build their second brains.
I look forward to the rest of this cohort, which is where I’ve found meaningful work.
