I was on Japanese TV

On July 9th, 2018, there was an international cuisine event called From World Kitchen at Shimonoseki City University. I was not a student at the university, but I regularly went there to meet students and make friends.

I got to try small portions of Korean chijimi, Vietnamese pho, Malaysian chicken and rice, Japanese okonomiyaki, and Chinese mapo tofu. These were cooked by students from those respective countries. There was also a traditional Japanese kimono dance, and then group pictures with everyone.

A local news reporter interviewed some of the people there. I tried my best to answer the interviewer’s questions with my limited Japanese. On TV, they only showed a short clip of me saying, "It's all delicious!"

2018年7月9日、下関市立大学で「世界の厨房から」という国際料理イベントがあった。僕は大学生じゃなかったけど、学生に会ったり友達を作ったりするためにその大学に定期的に通っていた。

食べてみたものは韓国のチヂミ、ベトナムのフォー、マレーシアの鶏肉とご飯、日本のお好み焼き、中国の麻婆豆腐。料理がそれぞれの国の学生によって調理された。 日本舞踊もあったし、みんなで集合写真も撮った。

地元の報道記者が参加者にインタビューしていた。僕は限られた日本語で報道記者のいろんな質問に頑張って答えたけど、テレビでは僕が「全部おいしい！」と言っているところだけが出た。
