Super-connector

Super-connector
In the book Never Eat Alone is the concept of a “super-connector.” This is someone who does a lot of networking, and is able to match people to each other to meet their needs. This isn’t the kind of superficial networking that may come to mind. It involves the hard work of upkeeping contact to continue relationships. A second brain is a must for super-connectors, to track people’s interests, locations, needs, contact info, and meeting notes.
One of my clients, and friend from BASB, is from Hawaii, and has quite a few ambitious projects. He also has good connections. One of my friends from my writing course recently moved to Hawaii and she didn’t have any friends there. I thought to introduce them to each other virtually. They ended up meeting up. She needed a job, and now she is working with him on one of his projects. We had a group call today. It was neat to see that I was successful in being a connector for them. I wouldn’t call myself a super-connector, but I can see I have the potential.
